Not cooler than Tate Modern or the National Gallery, the National Portrait Galley is still a fun day, a free fun day! If you haven't been to Tate Modern or the National Gallery yet, go to those first, but if you have and are looking for something to do this is a very solid option.

I have visited many galleries in London though I'm not an art expert, most of my friends know much more. This one is not stuffy at all, you don't have to wear your best outfit to go here and I'll let you in on a little secret.. the view from the restaurant is the best of Trafalgar Square, food isn't horrible either.
